A NIGHT ON THE oldest TOWN in Texas
Thursday, October 15, 2009
Grab your walking shoes and camera, and join us for a fun-filled evening as we experience the best of the old and the best of the new in historical downtown Nacogdoches! The evening will kick-off with shopping and site seeing on your own. As you walk around the square, you’ll enjoy Texas fiddle music at the Old Time String Shop, learn about old-fashioned technology at the Nacogdoches Fire Department Museum and see space-age mapping technologies at work in the Columbia - Regional Geospatial Service Center. Then, you’ll be transported back in time to 1840’s Nacogdoches at the Old University Building where you’ll enjoy hors d’oeuvres and be greeted by historical figures. Our journey through time will continue with a visit to the modern-day SFA Art Center where you may relax with friends as you enjoy drinks, chamber music and browse the art exhibits. From there it’s just a few steps back to the Hotel Fredonia for dinner. Finally, after dinner we’ll party into the night with a live DJ and a fun variety of the best of the old and best of the new styles of dancing! Whether you’re looking for leisure, learning or laughs, you’ll never forget this night in the oldest town in Texas.
